生肖文化出海|全球吉庆生肖设计展在纽约联合国总部隆重揭幕

2026年2月2日,“全球吉庆生肖设计展”在纽约联合国总部隆重揭幕。展览以生肖文化为主题,以多元当代设计语言演绎生肖文化的生生不息,旨在搭建一座跨国文化对话的桥梁,让各国观众触摸东方美学的脉搏,感受传统与现代的共鸣。本次展览由中国常驻联合国代表团、北京市文化和旅游局、中央美术学院共同主办,北京市海外文化交流中心、北京当代艺术基金会共同协办,将持续展出至2月13日。

On February 2, 2026, the Global Auspicious Chinese Zodiac Design Exhibition is officially unveiled at United Nations Headquarters in New York. Centered on Chinese zodiac culture, the exhibition interprets the ever-evolving vitality of this tradition through diverse contemporary design approaches, aiming to build a bridge for cross-cultural dialogue. It offers international audiences an opportunity to feel the pulse of Eastern aesthetics and experience the resonance between tradition and modernity. Co-hosted by the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), and co-organized by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center (BOCEC) and the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation (BCAF), the exhibition will remain open through February 13.

适逢“全球吉庆生肖设计大赛”十二年圆满一轮之际,本次展览集中呈现了大赛十二年积累的优秀创意作品,同时特别展出了与美国设计院校联合征集的马年主题设计作品。此次征集汇聚了中、美等多个国家设计师的百余件优秀创意作品,涵盖平面设计、产品设计、多媒体艺术等多个门类。这些作品既深入萃取传统生肖文化的美学精髓,又融合了当代创新设计理念,打造出一场兼具东方韵味与国际视野的文化盛宴,生动诠释了生肖文化的创造性转化与跨文化共鸣。

The exhibition marks the completion of the competition’s first full zodiac cycle. It features a retrospective of standout works from past years, alongside a special showcase of Year of the Horse designs created in partnership with American design institutions. This collaborative call for entries attracted over 100 submissions from designers in China, the U.S., and other countries, covering graphic design, product design, and multimedia art. These works draw deeply from Chinese zodiac traditions while embracing contemporary design innovation. The result is a vibrant cultural showcase that bridges Eastern aesthetics with global perspectives—vividly demonstrating how this ancient symbolism can be re-imagined for today’s world and resonate across cultures.

作为北京市文化和旅游局连续多年打造的国际文化品牌,全球吉庆生肖设计大赛自2014年创办以来,已累计征集全球近30个国家4万余件作品,645件佳作亮相全球17国展陈,成为集创作、展示、交流、转化于一体的生肖文化国际传播平台。本次展览邀请中央美术学院共同策展,以专业设计优势,前沿设计理念赋能传统文化创新表达。

Launched by the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau in 2014, the Global Zodiac Design Competition has grown into an international cultural brand, drawing over 40,000 entries from nearly 30 countries. To date, 645 selected works have toured 17 countries, establishing the competition as a global platform for Chinese zodiac culture spanning design, exhibition, exchange, and commercial transformation. For this exhibition, CAFA joins as co-curator, bringing professional expertise and contemporary vision to fresh interpretations of Chinese cultural heritage.

此次展览首度亮相联合国总部,既为全球青年设计师搭建了更高规格的展示舞台,也彰显了中方推动文明对话、促进文化交流的积极姿态。未来,全球吉庆生肖设计大赛将继续秉持开放包容的理念,筑牢跨文化创意合作的桥梁,以生肖为纽带讲述中国故事、传播中国声音,助力中华文化与世界文明深度交流互鉴。

Making its debut at UN Headquarters, the exhibition provides high-level exposure for young designers worldwide while underscoring China's dedication to fostering cross-cultural understanding. The competition will remain committed to openness and inclusiveness, strengthening conduits for international creative cooperation. By harnessing the Chinese zodiac’s universal appeal, the initiative aims to tell China’s stories and promote even richer engagement between Chinese heritage and global audiences.
