历经百年发展的中国油画业已成为中国画家表达时代感受的艺术方式，随着对西方油画传统和现代发展状况认知视野的不断扩大，油画本体语言的研究也不断深入，但是，油画作为一个有历史传承和文化内涵的大画种，对油画的学脉学理研究还需要加强，对油画的品格品质追求还需要更加自觉。作为人到中年的油画家，徐志广在这些方面体现出坚定的信念和执着的精神，也就有了他在油画上很丰厚的积累。徐志广是一位性情温和、为人低调的油画家，但在油画研究和创作上始终保持韧性，并且有着对外部世界中的自然景物和生活现实的敏感。许多年来，他一方面不断走向生活、走向自然，在充满光感的空间中捕捉鲜活生动的人与物，描绘具有生活气息的情态与场景，从而使自己的创作呈现出多种视角和多种形态。他的油画肖像作品注重光下的人物形态，既把握不同人物的“身份”特征，更注重刻画人物的内在精神；他的主题创作中既有来自乡土的日常生活，也有都市中的青年一族，但都致力于塑造有憧憬有理想的人物神态，由此使画面上拂动着朴素的人性温暖；他更多的作品是风景写生，每个季节都要在大自然面前驻足，所画的景色非常宽广，运用前后跌宕的物象尺度，展开纵深的空间，筑构出充满蓬勃生命意象的境界。油画本体语言研究是徐志广锲而不舍的课题。他一向注重学习和传承新中国成立以来一代油画名家的学术风范，也多次前往欧洲了解和研究西方油画的经典精髓，在画面结构、造型、色彩和用笔上追求浑然一体、内在通融的美学品格。他的许多写生作品敢于运用浓烈的色彩色调，并施以阔略的大笔和书写性的线条，在塑形造境上展现出率真的感性；而在人物作品中，他善于将古典油画深沉醇厚的暗部处理和现代绘画的表现性用笔结合起来，使作品既拥有浓郁的油画意韵，又展现出他在写意性语言上的追求，也正是在这种融汇探索的过程中，他的艺术个性风格被自然而然地展现出来。一批表现夜景的作品是徐志广这些年的专攻成果。夜的海、夜的天空、夜的城市、夜的生活都落入他的画中，成为引发遥想的景象。相比起日光下的风景，他的夜景表达更注重明暗和色彩的组合，也注重虚实的变化。在徐志广那里，昼与夜的互补才是完整的世界，这是关于时间的视觉抒情。After a hundred years of development, Chinese oil painting has become an artistic form for Chinese painters to express the feelings of the times. With the continuous expansion of the cognitive vision of the Western oil painting tradition and its development in modern times, the research on the ontology language of oil painting also moved forward. However, as a large genre of painting with historical inheritance and cultural connotation, the study of the academic background and theory of oil painting needs to be strengthened, and the pursuit of the quality of oil painting also needs to be more conscious. As a middle-aged oil painter, Xu Zhiguang shows a firm belief and persistent spirit in these aspects, which led to his rich accumulation in oil painting.Xu Zhiguang is a good-natured and low-key oil painter, but he always keeps toughness in oil painting research and creation, being sensitive to the natural scenery and the reality of life in the outside world. For many years, on the one hand, he has been paying attention to life and nature, capturing images of living people and vivid objects in a space full of light sensation, and depicting states and scenes with a flavor of life, so that his creation can present a variety of perspectives and forms. His oil portrait works focus on figures in natural light, not only to grasp the “identity” of different characteristics, but also to portray the intrinsic spirit of the figures. His themed creations include both the daily life in the countryside and the youth generation in the city, but all of them are committed to shaping characters with aspirations, which endows the pictures with the warmth of human nature. Many of his works are sketches of landscapes, as he paints nature every season and preserves a wide variety of sceneries, using the distance of image scale to expand the depth of space and build a fantastic realm full of vibrant life images.The study of the ontological language of oil painting is a persistent theme for Xu Zhiguang. He has always attached importance to learning and inheriting the academic style of famous oil painters since New China was founded. He has also traveled to Europe many times to study and get insight into the essence of Western oil painting and pursued an interconnected aesthetic character in the composition of a picture. Many of his sketch works are bold in using intense colors and tones, and apply broad brush strokes and writing lines, revealing his spontaneous sensibility in creating environments. While in his figure works, he is good at combining the darkening areas of classical oil painting with the expressive brush strokes of modern painting, so that his works not only possess a strong oil painting flavor but also show his pursuit of freehand language. It is in this process of integration and exploration that his artistic personality and style are naturally unfolded.A group of works showing night scenes is the result of Xu Zhiguang’s artistic practices over the years. At night, the sea, the sky, the city and life all fall into his paintings and become sceneries that provoke distant thoughts. Compared with the views under the sun, his night scenes lay more emphasis on the combination of shading and colors, as well as changes between the real and the virtual. For Xu Zhiguang, the complementarity of day and night makes a whole world, which is a visual lyricism about time.Chairman of China Artists Association悬崖之上 On the cliff
