写在开始

from now on

斯夏的小房间即将开幕的展览《变形鸟》,源头和契机,都指向着斯夏2026SS的「九头鸟」系列。这一个关于斯夏CAIRA主理人/设计师晴朗的故乡——湖北的系列,也是继斯夏从2019年便开始不断深入,探索和呈现的福州这一土地的文化传统风貌之后的,一次跨地域的尝试。

Metamorphosis - the upcoming exhibition at CAIRAROOM, finds its origin and impetus in CAIRA’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Nine-Headed Bird. Rooted in Hubei Province - the hometown of CAIRA’s founder and designer Qinglang, this collection marks a cross-regional exploration, following the brand’s sustained engagement with the cultural traditions of Fuzhou since 2019.

当提及湖北,绝大多数的人应该都会第一时间想到“天上九头鸟,地上湖北佬”这一句俗语。我们已经无法去考究这一句流传许久的话语,它的出发点和想要诠释的是什么,但当我们尝试在现代语境之中去重新理解,反而会感受到“自由”、“力量”、“爽朗”、“人杰地灵”等等新的意味。在斯夏2026SS的「九头鸟」系列中,我们运用了几种服装上的手法去诠释“多头”这一切入点。比如将靠近脖颈部分的版型(平常被叫做“套头”的地方)进行叠加重复,然后在这个手法里延续之前的半理论半凭感觉的可能性,变成了非常隐晦且不明着彰显的“衣服多头”......

For most of people, Hubei would be immediately associated with the saying, “Nine-headed birds in the sky, Hubei people on the earth.” The original meaning and intention behind this long-circulated proverb may no longer be traceable, revisiting it through a contemporary context reveals new interpretations: freedom, strength, candor and talent, etc. In Nine-Headed Bird collection, CAIRA approached the notion of “multiple heads” through a series of subtle garment interventions. Elements around the neckline, which refers to the pullover opening, were layered and repeated, extending the brand’s ongoing practice of balancing intuition with informality, and unfolding a discreet and almost imperceptible form of “multiple heads”.

当然,九头鸟,离不开“鸟”这件事。在关于湖北的探索之中,曾风靡一时的楚国鸟篆书,无疑也成为了我们注目的一个重点。这些仰首伸脚,笔划有着诸多变化,很多弯曲的文字,让人联想到吟线谱。因为那些标记和符号,斯夏热爱的推测和遐想便愈发膨大,也因此链接到了本次展览的艺术家——陈庭怡。她用陶的方式,做了不同的字形的变化,从甲骨文的写画记录和叙述的方式,慢慢延伸到了重复书写,字体和形态,用自己的转化方式,将文字这种“写实”到不行的描述,变得“写意”,变得有丰富的可能。“这些变形的过程,和衣服的变化很相似,这些变化也许就是现代人对演变的模拟和尝试。”晴朗如此说道。

Yet the Nine-Headed Bird cannot be separated from the bird itself. During CAIRA’s exploration of Hubei, the distinctive bird-script inscriptions of ancient State of Chu became an important clue. Characterized by uplifted and elongated strokes, and highly varied with curvilinear forms, these writings evoke musical notation as much as language. With such marks and symbols naturally encouraged speculation and imaginative projection of CAIRA’s creative practice, thus ultimately formed a connection to Chen Tingyi. The artist transforms and reconfigures written forms, from the pictographic and narrative of oracle bone script to processes of repetition, rewriting and formal mutation. Through her own methods, characters turned from literal symbols to expressive, open-ended works with rich possibilities. As Qinglang observes, “These processes of transformation are remarkably similar to the ways garments evolve, perhaps such changes are contemporary attempts to simulate and engage with the evolution itself.”

在本次展览中,我们不仅可以看到陈庭怡的经典作品,更有她为展览特别创作的,一部分关于「重复书写」的变形鸟作品。对陈庭怡而言,文字不只是用来阅读的符号,而是一种在反复书写与变形的过程中,不断产生新的形态与意义的媒介。在这次于斯夏小房间的呈现中,她试图在一个带有历史感的空间里,创造出新的观看与使用方式,让作品不仅仅是被观看的一方,而是一种沉浸式的,与空间、与时间、与观者的身体经验产生关系的体验。

The exhibition presents not only a selection of Chen Tingyi’s classic works, but also new objects of Metamorphic Birds created specifically for this occasion, centered on the repetitive writing. For Chen, characters are not merely symbols to be read, but a medium through which new forms and meanings continually emerge through repetition and transformation. Within the historically resonant setting of CAIRAROOM, she seeks to create new ways of viewing and using, allowing the works to exist not simply as objects of observation, but as immersive experiences among space, time and the embodied presence of viewers.

About the Artist


陈庭怡 (Tingyi Chen)

台湾艺术大学工艺设计学系 M.F.A.。

她以陶瓷为主要媒材,创作关注于文字。在作品中,文字不再只是传递讯息的符号,而是一种承载情感与文化的存在。使用自身文化背景中的“汉字”为核心,透过对字形、笔触与结构之间细微关系的观察,将书写与阅读的经验转译为陶瓷的质地与样貌。

文字既映照个人的记忆,也延伸出文化的脉络;其意义不仅停留于字面,更蕴含情感与个性的痕迹。透过对笔触力道、结构节奏与形态变化的处理,使文字从平面转为立体存在,进一步被观看与感知。在这样的转化过程中,文字回到作为感知与思索起点的状态,不再仅是被阅读的内容,而成为可被体验的形式。作品试图引导观者重新观看文字的形貌与内涵,在熟悉与陌生之间,展开对文字本质的再思考。

CAIRA ROOM是一个融合服饰,器物与艺术的复合式「衣物廊」。

在这里,我们以品牌季度成衣为原点,延伸至与之呼应的"身外之物",以及被重新思考的日常。空间将聚焦于服饰的质感叙事,穿戴的文化隐喻,以及与身体相关的物质哲学。

我们同时寻找那些视觉语言独特,创作脉络清晰的艺术家与设计师,通过展览,对话和驻留项目,探讨衣、物如何作为身体延伸的关联,以及艺术如何作为情感传递的手段。

延续对在地文化与当代语境的关注,CAIRA ROOM将保持对真实创造的信仰,以沉静而非喧哗的方式,构建一个能够触摸,穿着,凝视与思考的场域,我们希望斯夏的小房间不只是成衣的容器,更是身体与物质互文的精神廊道。

斯夏CAIRA是成立于2018年的独立设计师品牌。

设计师光云于2016年毕业于DHU / bunka,设计师晴朗于2017年毕业于HIFA / NABA。创立初衷希望将艺术融入生活,在实穿性里寻求更多可能性。以服装的形式描绘生活美学。

没有改变世界的伟大梦想,只希望让穿衣成为平淡生活里一件很重要的小事。「做好一件衣服」从日常如新里感受到生活的永恒如新。
