On April 13, 2026, USCBC President Sean Stein delivered opening remarks at the launch ceremony of the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) and the 2026 "Shopping in China" International Consumption Season in Haikou, Hainan.
Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, Hainan Party Secretary Feng Fei, Hainan Governor Liu Xiaoming, Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping, Canada's Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu, and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Nurlan Yermekbayev also attended the event.
何立峰副总理在致辞中强调，海南消博会现已成为海南自由贸易港建设的一张亮丽名片，更是中国与世界共享市场机遇的重要平台，期待各国企业借助消博会平台共享中国发展红利。
In his remarks, Vice Premier He Lifeng noted that the China International Consumer Products Expo in Hainan is a pivotal gateway for China to share the opportunities of its vast domestic market with the world, and as a flagship brand of the Hainan Free Trade Port. He expressed hopes that global enterprises will leverage the Expo platform to participate in and benefit from China's development.

President Sean Stein noted that US companies remain strongly committed to operating in China. He underscored that their continued deep engagement in the Chinese market reflects the US business community's strong confidence in China's high‑quality development prospects. China's vast market potential and dynamic consumer base will continue to create new opportunities and greater certainty for US-China economic and trade cooperation.
President Stein further highlighted that China's advancing innovation ecosystem offers US business new platforms for growth, enhancing their global competitiveness. Looking ahead, President Stein emphasized that Hainan's island-wide special customs operation will open up new opportunities for US business to invest and operate across sectors such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and financial services.
启动仪式当天，来自中国政府相关部门、外国政要及使节、国际组织、境外商协会的代表，以及本届消博会参展商、采购商等约1000位嘉宾齐聚一堂，共襄盛举。
Approximately 1,000 participants attended the launch ceremony, including officials from relevant Chinese government departments, foreign dignitaries and members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations and foreign business associations, as well as Expo exhibitors and buyers.
