In this colorful and vibrant artistic realm, we encounter the tranquility of nature and the rhythm of life, feeling the dialogue between the soul and the universe. Xu Zhiguang's oil paintings are like a beautiful reverie about spring and life, guiding us into a poetic world—"Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms Smile in the Spring Breeze, Observing Freedom Beneath the Apple Tree."
"Ten miles of peach blossoms smile in the spring breeze, observing freedom beneath the apple tree." The mood of this line of poetry seems to perfectly reflect Xu Zhiguang's artistic creation. In his works, the gentle peach blossoms, the resilient apple trees, and the warmth of the spring breeze intertwine, showcasing the endless cycle of life in nature and the boundless hope it offers. Through the brushstrokes of these oil paintings, the viewer not only sees the beauty of nature but also feels the artist's love for life, his reverence for nature, and his deep reflections on the soul.
Xu Zhiguang's works primarily feature peach blossoms and apple trees, cleverly revealing both the contrasts and resonances between the two. The peach blossoms symbolize the bloom and beauty of spring, embodying the lightness and warmth of life; while the apple tree symbolizes harvest, resilience, and the steady flow of life. In his paintings, the delicate beauty of the peach blossoms complements the ruggedness of the apple trees, creating a natural scene that is both harmonious and full of strength. Whether depicting the splendor of the peach blossoms in rich, vivid colors or presenting the weightiness of the apple tree with subtle tones, Xu Zhiguang evokes an emotional response that stirs within us a boundless reverence for nature and life.
This exhibition is not merely a visual feast, but a spiritual cleansing. On Xu Zhiguang's canvas, we can almost see the spring breeze gently sweeping by, flowers blooming on the branches, and hear the soft whisper of the breeze under the tree. Here, art is no longer just a form, but an expression that touches the soul, bringing each viewer a sense of tranquility and strength that bursts forth from deep within. In this space, we see not just the beauty of nature, but the vibrant force of life itself.
Let us follow Xu Zhiguang's brush and step into this spring where peach blossoms and apple trees intertwine, feeling the natural beauty and freedom of the soul embedded in every stroke, every drop of paint.

Xu Zhiguang (born in 1973), a contemporary Chinese artist, currently works and lives in Beijing. For many years, he has been continuously engaging in an artistic dialogue between humans and nature, exploring new creative paths. The core of his artistic practice lies in focusing on the endlessly regenerating elements of nature—those that have endured harsh winters and scorching summers, ultimately emerging in the form of vibrant flowers and abundant fruits. The artist keenly observes the resilience and cyclical nature of these lives and, through allegorical creation, repositions these images within the narrative of art history, provoking reflection from viewers. This process led to the creation of his renowned series, Apple Tree Series and Peach Blossom Spring Series.
Xu Zhiguang graduated in 2018 from the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he was awarded a Master’s degree by the academy. He currently holds the position of Senior Artist and is a researcher of the Research Groupin the Oil Painting Institute of the Chinese Academy of Art. He also serves as an external supervisor for graduate students at Shandong University of Art & Design, a professor at Hebei University of Fine Arts, and a visiting professor at Glair University in Thailand.
Since 2000, Xu Zhiguang has held as many as 20 solo exhibitions at such art venues as the National Art Museum of China, Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Cloud Art Museum of the China Academy of Art Oil Painting Institute, and Singapore ION Art Gallery. His works are widely collected by private collectors both at home and abroad, as well as major art institutions. Notable collections include: the National Art Museum of China, the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum, the Oil Painting Institute of the Chinese Academy of Art, Shandong Art Museum, Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Hebei Art Museum, Hulunbuir Art Museum, the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge, the Ashmolean Museum at the University of Oxford, the Singapore Heng Artland, and Art Museum of Soka Gakkai Malaysia, among others.
