德国葡萄酒协会颁奖晚宴圆满落幕,2023年度最佳进口商及认证讲师揭晓!

2023 Wines of Germany China Award Dinner took place yesterday on November 9th at Kerry Hotel Pudong in Shanghai. Ms. Friederike Dörfler, Counsellor of Food and Agriculture of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ms. Manuela Liebchen, the marketing manager of Deutsches Weininstitut and BMEL representatives, gathered with over 100 German winery, importer, wine educators and media guests, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of German wine in the Chinese market.

德国葡萄酒协会（DWI）市场经理Manuela Liebchen女士在开幕致辞中总结道：在过去五年里，中国葡萄酒市场经历了巨大的下滑，进口额从2018年的26.7亿美元下降到2022年的13.2亿美元。然而，尽管市场出现了下滑，德国葡萄酒展现出了异常的韧性和增长。实际上，德国葡萄酒不仅经受住了市场的寒冬，而且在2021年和2022年分别在进口量和进口额方面达到了历史最高水平。从2016年到2022年，德国葡萄酒进口量实现了稳定增长，从381万升增长到481万升。同时，进口价值增加了58%，从1643万美元上升至2588万美元。

由于这一令人瞩目的表现，德国在进口葡萄酒市场份额中的排名从2016年的第11位跃升至2022年的第7位，市场份额从0.7%增长到2%。这一卓越成就证明了中国市场对德国葡萄酒的强劲需求。

The marketing manager of the Deutsches Weininstitut Manuela Liebchen pointed out that over the past five years, the Chinese wine market has experienced a decline in the total amount of imported wine, dropping from 2.67 billion US dollars in 2018 to 1.32 billion US dollars in 2022. However, despite this market downturn, German wine has displayed exceptional resilience and growth. In fact, German wine has not only weathered the storm but also reached historic highs in terms of import volume and value in 2021 and 2022 respectively. From 2016 to 2022, the volume of German wine imports experienced a significant growth of 26%, rising from 3.81 million liters to 4.81 million liters. Simultaneously, the import value witnessed an increase of 58%, leaping from $16.43 million to $25.88 million US dollars. 

As a result of this impressive performance, Germany jumped from the 11th position in 2016 to the 7th in 2022, increasing in its import market share from 0.7% to 2% among the countries that import wine to China. This impressive accomplishment is a testament to the strong demand for German wine in China.

这个成功的关键因素无疑来自德国的明星葡萄品种——雷司令。德国雷司令的优雅多变征服了中国的葡萄酒消费者。它易于饮用的特点和出色的配餐能力吸引了新一代的消费者，尤其是年轻的女性消费群体。

One of the key contributors to this success is the star grape of Germany – Riesling. This elegant and versatile grape has captured the hearts of wine consumers in China. Its easy-drinking nature and remarkable food pairing capacity have fascinated the new generations of consumers, especially young female consumers across the country. 

不过，雷司令并不是在中国取得普及的唯一品种。其他德国特色品种，如黑皮诺、西尔尼和白皮诺，也赢得了中国葡萄酒爱好者的喜爱。随着我们见证中国市场的进一步发展，白葡萄酒，尤其是德国雷司令在中国的消费潜力变得日益明显。

However, it is important to note that Riesling is not the only variety that has achieved popularity in China. Other signature German varieties, such as Spätburgunder, Silvaner and Pinot Blanc, has also won the hearts of Chinese wine enthusiasts. As we witness the further development of the Chinese market, it becomes evident that the consumption of white wine, particularly German Riesling, holds immense potential for growth.

In the speech of Manuela Liebchen, marketing manager of the Deutsches Weininstitut, she also mentioned the excellent performance of the Wines of Germany China team: "I am incredibly proud to introduce our team to you: Jeuce Huang, Mateus Wu and Ines Qiu. Since the opening of our China agency in 2015, their clear marketing strategies, exceptional event execution and hard work have been instrumental in the growing popularity of German wine in China."

The German wine importers and educators play a vital role in fostering the success of German wine in China. Therefore, to honor their great contribution, Wines of Germany presented the awards for the 2023 Best German Wine Importers and Best Educators.
