本次个展取名《经纬乾坤》,藏着四层创作理念。
第一层,源于我在提花博物馆的驻地创作。循着古老织纹溯源历史,以这场展览回应驻留地流淌千年的提花织造文脉。

第二层,是织造带给我的一点感悟:立于织机前,我们永远无法一眼窥见完整纹样,图案皆是经线和纬线层层交织,慢慢成形。就像我的艺术创作,也是在与提花肌理一次次的磨合、沉淀与酝酿里,才诞生出一件件无法复刻的孤品。

第三层,一件作品的诞生,从来没有一蹴而就的圆满。在无数次尝试与遗憾过后,最终成型是偶然之中的必然。作品落款「普天之上」,取自我的本名卜天谐音,既是敬畏天地之上的造化,也深知一件作品的落成,如同布料的经纬交织,是万千因素慢慢编织而成。我始终怀揣谦卑之心,对待每一次创作。

This solo exhibition is titled Latitudes and Longitudes of the Cosmos, which embodies four layers of creative philosophy.
The first layer originates from my residency creation at the Jacquard Museum. Tracing back history along ancient woven patterns, this exhibition pays homage to the millennia-old cultural lineage of jacquard weaving rooted in this residency site.
The second layer stems from an insight I gained through weaving: standing before a loom, we can never see the full pattern at a single glance. Designs take shape gradually, woven together warp by warp and weft by weft. Similarly, my artistic works are irreplaceable one-of-a-kind pieces forged through repeated adaptation, reflection and gestation alongside jacquard textures.
The third layer speaks to the truth that no artwork reaches perfect completion overnight. After countless attempts and regrets, the final form emerges as an inevitability born from chance. My signature Above All Heaven is a phonetic pun derived from my given name Bu Tian. It expresses awe for the cosmic creation above heaven and earth, while acknowledging that finishing an artwork is akin to interlacing warp and weft threads—crafted slowly from countless converging factors. I approach every creation with enduring humility.
The fourth layer lies in the exhibition itself as an interwoven tapestry. Every person I met during the residency, every kind encounter, has been spun into the fabric of these artworks. Gratitude for all these connections, which bind us together to weave Latitudes and Longitudes of the Cosmos into being.

艺术创作涉及绘画、影像和行为,绘画作品打破装饰与纯艺术的界限,被誉为“图案绘画”第一人。近期的创作关注数字时代下当代人的境遇:AI和⼤数据下所谓的选择并不存在,⼀切被推送的链接,恰如暗中编织的⼀张⼤⽹操控着你我的每次选择,⼩到购物,⼤到选举,左右⼈⽣,并习惯成瘾,患上了斯德哥尔摩症。

Artistic creation involves painting, video and Performance Art。My recent creations focus on the predicament of contemporary people in the digital age: the so-called "choices" under big data do not actually exist. All the pushed links are just like an invisible web weaving secretly, manipulating every choice we make—from trivial shopping decisions to major elections. They shape our lives, make us addicted, and even lead us to develop a sort of Stockholm syndrome.
