2026年6月28日，汇美艺术馆即将推出新展“烈焰——戴敢十年纪念展”。在艺术家戴敢去世十周年之时，汇美艺术馆通过纪念展来追忆这位对艺术和生活充满热忱的艺术家，来提醒我们如何在平凡的生命历程中熠熠生辉，给自己一份满意的答卷。
On June 28, 2026, Hui Mei Art Museum will present Flames: Dai Gan, A Decade Remembered. Marking the tenth anniversary of the artist's passing, this commemorative exhibition honors a man who embraced both art and life with deep passion, and quietly reminds us that even an ordinary life can blaze with brilliance.

戴敢1967年出生于河南，1994年毕业于河南省工艺美术学校，2016年6月25日离世，享年49岁。策展人李海洋将以戴敢2008-2016年间的创作脉络为主线，结合其个人经历、性格特点回溯戴敢为热爱的艺术事业充分燃烧的饱满一生。
Dai Gan was born in 1967 in Henan Province. He graduated from the Henan Provincial Arts and Crafts School in 1994, and passed away on June 25, 2016, at the age of 49. Curator Li Haiyang traces Dai Gan's creative development from 2008 to 2016, weaving together his life experiences and personal character to recount a full life fiercely devoted to the art he loved.
在青春躁动的青少年时期，戴敢在机缘巧合下与艺术不期而遇，立刻触发其生命价值的觉醒。在1990年代理想燃烧的岁月，耳边是萦绕着摇滚乐，空气中充满诗歌的浪漫，哲学的高冷与经济的世俗交织融合。在诗歌的感性浸润与哲学的理性思辨中，戴敢完成了生命的重塑。
In his restless, hot-blooded youth, Dai Gan encountered art by chance, which immediately awakened his sense of life’s purpose. In the idealistic blaze of the 1990s, rock music filled the ears, the air was thick with poetic romance, and the aloofness of philosophy intertwined with the secular pull of the market. Immersed in the emotional nourishment of poetry and the intellectual discipline of philosophy, Dai Gan reshaped his life.
二十世纪九十年代是中国艺术从传统走向前卫的转折期，伴随着改革开放的深化和85艺术新潮的深入，西方各种艺术流派和思潮涌入，艺术界喧闹异常。我们可以想象，戴敢刚刚踏入艺术门槛，面对艺术纷扰时的茫然。印象派在这个时期成为大众最熟知的艺术流派，在各种展览、教材和媒体中反复出现。印象派的出现就是挑战新古典主义的“革命派”，这恰好挑起戴敢基因中的蠢蠢欲动。这也是在众多的艺术门类中，戴敢独爱油画的原因。
Perhaps this is why, among all art forms, oil painting became his singular devotion. The 1990s marked a turning point as Chinese art moved from tradition toward the avant-garde. With the deepening of reform and opening-up and the lingering currents of the '85 New Wave, Western art movements and ideas surged into China, creating a turbulent, clamorous art scene. One can imagine Dai Gan's disorientation as he first stepped into this world. Yet Impressionism, the most widely known movement of the time—seen everywhere in exhibitions, textbooks, and media—was itself a revolution against Neoclassicism. It resonated perfectly with the restless spirit in his blood.
戴敢早期常与画友到郑州市区周边写生创作，作品带有印象派风格的细碎笔触；中期作品（2011-2014）受德国表现主义大师基弗影响，2013年的创作技法跳跃，在反复试错中开始脱离自然物象，融入中国绘画的写意精神，画面呈现出强烈的东方诗意；后期作品（2014-2016）完全进入抽象表现主义的范畴，脱离技法的桎梏，进入对生命本质的追问。戴敢对待艺术与生活真诚而热烈，如同一团火焰，在四十九年的生命中充分燃烧。
In his early years, Dai Gan often went on sketching trips with fellow artists to the outskirts of Zhengzhou, producing works marked by the fine, fragmented brushstrokes characteristic of Impressionism. His middle period (2011–2014) shows the influence of German Expressionist master Anselm Kiefer. By 2013, his technique underwent a dramatic leap: through repeated trial and error, he began to move away from naturalistic depiction, absorbing the freehand spirit of Chinese ink painting, and his canvases grew saturated with a deep Eastern lyricism. In his late works (2014–2016), he turned fully toward Abstract Expressionism, casting off the fetters of technique to grapple directly with the ultimate questions of existence. Dai Gan's approach to art was sincere and fierce—a flame that burned without reserve throughout his forty-nine years.

In our conversations with Dai Gan’s family, classmates, and friends, we encounter a vivid, flesh-and-blood man: gentle in temperament, with a distinctive understanding of the ways of the world, an absolute devotion to the art he loved, and toward those close to him, a chivalrous generosity and an unguarded candor.
