麦勒画廊荣幸宣布将参加2026年北京当代·艺术博览会。画廊长期致力于呈现来自不同代际的中国及欧洲艺术家。本次博览会上,画廊将特别推出苗妙(1986年生)的个展项目“包办的,命中注定的”。Galerie Urs Meile is delighted to announce its participation in Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2026. The gallery is dedicated to presenting a diverse array of Chinese and European artists spanning various generations. For this edition, the gallery presents the solo project Pre-arranged, Predestined by Miao Miao (b. 1986).该项目延续了苗妙此前个展中提出的“包办的生活”概念,持续探索人类存在与塑造其存在形态的社会结构之间的相互关系。The project extends the concept of "pre-arranged life" developed in Miao's previous solo exhibition, continuing her exploration of the inextricable relationship between human existence and the social structures that shape it.有海浪的城市夜晚|City Night with Waves, 2025布⾯混合媒介|mixed media on canvas200 × 160 cm
此次展出的作品主要以“桌上”和“墙上”两种形式呈现。通过截然不同的展示方式,苗妙在展览空间中构建出一个近似科幻小说的情节:描绘日常场景的作品排列于墙面,而桌上的作品《UFO》(2019)则呈现了两个背影凝视着一艘不明飞行物,将来自另一维度的意外事件引入平稳运行的日常结构中。同时,空间中隐藏的线索——例如树根上的运动鞋——暗示着人类存在的痕迹。The works are presented primarily through two formats: "on the table" and "on the wall". Through these distinct modes of installation, Miao constructs a sci-fi-like plot in the exhibition space. Works depicting everyday scenes line the walls, while the work UFO (2019) on the table shows two people gazing toward a UFO, introducing an unexpected encounter from another dimension into the pre-designated everyday life. Meanwhile, clues hidden in the space, such as the sneaker at the base of the tree, imply the presence of human beings.油,蜡,⾊素于画布|oil, wax, pigment on canvas

这些元素共同强调了UFO既可能是日常生活的出口,也可能是预设结构的开端这一微妙之处。然而,两种解读都强化了项目的循环特性。UFO这一通常被视为人类想象投射的概念,亦被嵌入了它看似要打破的那个持续循环之中。Together, these elements emphasize the subtlety that the UFO is either an exit or the beginning of a cycle. However, both interpretations reinforce the project's looping structure. The idea of UFOs, usually understood as a projection of human imagination, has also been embedded in the continuous cycle that it appears to disrupt.“包办的,命中注定的”探讨了貌似静止的社会结构如何组织并限定了人们对时间、记忆与空间的感知。当日常生活被这一系统塑造时,该系统亦成为人们存在的延伸,因为个体将其内化为自身的一部分。尽管作品中无明显的人物形象,但其结构皆围绕人的存在而展开。Pre-arranged, Predestined questions how a seemingly static social structure organizes and constrains people's perceptions of time, memory, and space. While everyday life is reshaped by this system, the system also becomes an extension of human existence as individuals internalize it as part of themselves. The artist
苗妙1986年生于河南,2009年毕业于河南大学美术系。从事绘画创作及绘画材料研究工作。其作品围绕日常生活的内部与外部展开,痴迷、迂回于颜色与形状,掺杂文学性并试图清晰地描述混乱。目前工作、生活于多个城市的二维平面之间。Miao Miao (b. 1986 in Henan, China) graduated from the Fine Arts Department at Henan University, China in 2009. She has been focusing on her painting practices and conducting research on art materials. Her works unfold around the interior and exterior of everyday life as they obsess over color and shape, mingling with the literary in attempts to articulate chaos. She currently lives and works in two-dimensional planes in multiple cities.
