African tea-producing regions are concentrated on the East African highlands. Thanks to their high altitude and natural compliance with EU and Chinese organic standards, with no pesticide residues or excessive heavy metals, they have become key global production areas for high-quality black tea. Major producing countries include Kenya, Rwanda, Malawi, Uganda, and Tanzania, whose combined output accounts for over 90% of Africa's total production. With the implementation of China’s 100% tariff-free policy on 100 tariff items for 53 African countries on May 1, 2026, and the facilitation of customs clearance for African agricultural products into China, more high-quality African tea will enter the Chinese market.
