“前方200米右转进入龙海风情小镇。”导航声音响起,海风也呼呼作响。
“我姓符,符号的符,从小生活在这里。我没去过太远的地方。15岁那年,跟邻居阿姐去三亚干过一年工,没被老板骗,回家时只带回一条花连衣裙。但在村里,从没穿过。
又过了几年,阿妈催我结婚,我不太愿意。也不知道从什么时候起,三亚开始大力发展旅游,来的人越来越多,工作也多了,我想去三亚干工。
我跟阿妈闹翻了,还是去了三亚。恍惚间,十年一下就过去了。谈过几个男朋友,干过很多份工。直到前几年,阿妈联系我,说家里要拆迁了,让我回来了解补偿条件。我回了家,隔年就拿到了拆迁款和新房。我们村改名叫龙海风情小镇。管他呢,反正有钱拿。
又过了一阵,来了很多外地人,开始在这里做生意。有做餐饮的,有开民宿的。外地人还真会做生意,有一家民宿设计得挺好看,不过老板有点奇怪。在村里碰见,他总偷看我几眼。听人说,好像是搞美术的。管他呢。”符姐说罢没有点燃香烟,只将一颗生槟榔扔进嘴里,咀嚼起来。
我推开门,唤两只狗上了电动车,打算去遛狗,顺便扔垃圾。车子发动,刚拐过一个路口,看见符姐站在路口的槟榔摊前,跟几个妇女聊天。符姐打扮得耀眼,一头金色短发,脖上挂着珍珠项链,手里拎着漆皮小包,身穿黑底白花的连衣裙,腰间扎着束腰皮带,脚上踩着一双8厘米的高跟鞋。她的双眼透出完美的自信,或许是因为和她聊天的妇女们只随意穿着短袖短裤,趿着拖鞋,跟她对比实在鲜明。符姐,还真是别具一格。
以上是我杜撰的小故事,近一年,我更多的关注于身边的生活,创作可能是私人的,应该带着窥探的眼光去观看作品,就像窥视别人的生活。你大概能感受到活生生的生命力,美好或肮脏的人性,可怕的想法,善良的初衷等等。近一年我一直试图观察有生命力的事物,他们有可能存在于黑暗的缝隙里,也有可能在阳光之下。这需要仔细感受。我用粗粝和不加修饰的方式绘制和杜撰了一些人和故事,我非常开心可以分享我所看到和感受到的生命力,他们同样粗粝和不加修饰。

"Turn right 200 meters ahead to enter Longhai Style Town." The navigation voice cut through the air, and the sea wind howled.
"My surname is Fu—Fu, the character for 'symbol.' I’ve lived here all my life, never straying far from this place. At fifteen, I followed a neighbor’s elder sister to Sanya to work for a year. The boss never cheated me, and all I brought home was a flowery dress. But I never wore it in the village.
Years passed, and my mother pressured me to marry. I refused. Sometime later, Sanya began to develop tourism on a large scale. More and more visitors came, and work became plentiful. I wanted to go back to Sanya to work.
I quarreled with my mother and left for Sanya anyway. In a blur, ten years passed. I had several boyfriends and held countless jobs. A few years ago, my mother contacted me, saying our home was to be demolished and asking me to return to discuss the compensation terms. I came back, and the next year, we received the demolition money and a new apartment. Our village was renamed Longhai Style Town. I didn’t care—what mattered was the money.
Not long after, many outsiders came to do business here: restaurants, homestays, all kinds of trades. These outsiders were truly skilled at making a living. One homestay was beautifully designed, but its owner was a bit strange. Whenever we met in the village, he would sneak glances at me. People said he was an artist. I didn’t care."With that, Ms. Fu did not light the cigarette. Instead, she tossed a raw betel nut into her mouth and chewed slowly.
I pushed open the door, called my two dogs to the electric scooter, and planned to walk them and take out the trash. As I turned the corner, I saw Ms. Fu standing by the betel nut stall, chatting with several women. She was dazzlingly dressed: short blonde hair, a pearl necklace around her neck, a patent leather handbag in her hand. She
wore a black dress with white floral patterns, cinched at the waist by a belt, and a pair of 8-centimeter high heels on her feet. Her eyes exuded perfect confidence, perhaps because the women chatting with her were casually dressed in T-shirts, shorts, and slippers, making the contrast with her striking. Ms. Fu was truly unique.
Over the past year, I have focused more on life around me. Creation is private, and works should be viewed with a gaze of prying, much like peeking into the lives of others. You can surely feel the vivid vitality of life—the beauty and ugliness of human nature, dark thoughts, kind intentions, and so on. For nearly a year, I have tried to observe things with vitality; they may exist in dark crevices or under the sun. It requires careful feeling.I have painted and invented people and stories in a rough and unadorned way. I am very happyto share the vitality I have seen and felt, which is equally rough and unadorned.

周皞的创作灵感大多来源于生活,作品中蕴含着幽默、诙谐及自嘲来表达艺术家对世界认识,呈现他对社会文化和人性问题的思考。他擅长通过描绘简单直接的画面直击问题的本质,从而引发观众对现实问题的关注。
