当巨大的骷髅骨架,在繁花盛放的黑夜里,向背身而立的女孩递出一束彩虹色的花火,陈飞的丝网版画《陌生人》,便以一场温柔又刺目的相遇,叩响了关于生与死的永恒命题。在深邃如墨的背景里,热烈的生命与寂静的死亡,以“陌生人”的姿态,在二维平面上展开了一场无声的对话。

When a towering skeleton extends a burst of rainbow-hued sparks to a girl standing with her back turned, against a night ablaze with blooming flowers, Chen Fei’s silkscreen print Stranger unfolds a tender yet jarring encounter that probes the eternal theme of life and death. Set against an ink-black backdrop, vibrant life and silent death, in the guise of “strangers”, engage in a wordless dialogue across the flat, two-dimensional plane.

每一处色彩的碰撞,都是一次哲思的翻译。作品以典型的“超扁平”技法,消解了透视与明暗的边界,将骷髅的冷冽骨感、花火的绚烂线条,与前景繁复的植物纹理,一同铺展成精致而繁复的视觉表面。高饱和度的彩虹花火传递着生命的热烈张力,而白色骷髅的疏离存在,又为这份绚烂注入了死亡的冷峻底色,形式上的强烈反差,正是艺术家对“瞬间与永恒”“热烈与寂静”的视觉化表达。

Every collision of colors is a translation of philosophical thought. Adopting the quintessential "Superflat" technique, the work dissolves the boundaries of perspective and chiaroscuro, weaving the icy skeletal starkness of the skeleton, the dazzling streaks of the rainbow spark, and the lush, intricate plant textures of the foreground into an exquisitely crafted, densely layered visual surface. The high-saturation spark radiates the vibrant, passionate tension of life, while the detached presence of the white skeleton infuses this splendor with the cold, stark undertone of death. This stark formal contrast is precisely the artist’s visual articulation of the themes of "the ephemeral versus the eternal" and "fervor versus stillness".

陈飞没有用沉重的笔触书写悲戚,而是以明亮的动漫感语言,延续着对流行美学与哲思的融合。《陌生人》里的相遇,不是对立,而是一场温柔的触碰——它让我们在视觉冲击中,看见生命的脆弱与珍贵,也读懂了绚烂背后,那份关于存在与消逝的温柔叩问。

Chen Fei does not convey sorrow through somber brushstrokes; instead, he carries forward his fusion of pop aesthetics and philosophical inquiry with bright, anime-inflected visual language. The encounter in Stranger is not a confrontation, but a tender touch — it invites us, amid the visual shock, to witness the fragility and preciousness of life, and to discern, beneath the splendor, the gentle inquiry into existence and transience.

Artist Biography

陈飞 Chen Fei

1983年生于山西洪洞,2005年毕业于北京电影学院美术系,现居北京。其绘画融合简约线条与工笔技法,代表作品《工厂的春天》等。2012年获关注未来艺术英才"英才奖",2020年以434万元作品总成交额位列《胡润中国艺术榜》第77位。陈飞在北京今日美术馆、贝浩登画廊(纽约、巴黎、香港)、麦勒画廊(北京)等地举办个展,参与西岸美术馆"静默长假"(2020)、日本富山"人形万象"(2016)等群展。其作品曾亮相北京保利2021秋拍"中国新绘画夜场",2025年于上海胶囊画廊举办个展"是时候说再见"。作品《工厂的春天》通过叙事性场景描绘工厂主任与女工的互动,延续其社会观察视角的创作理念。

Born in Hongtong, Shanxi Province in 1983, Chen Fei graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Beijing Film Academy in 2005 and currently resides in Beijing. His paintings blend minimalist lines with meticulous fine-brush techniques, with Spring in the Factory among his representative works.He received the Elite Award at the Focus on Future Art Talents Awards in 2012. In 2020, he ranked 77th on the Hurun China Art List with a total auction turnover of 4.34 million yuan. Chen Fei has held solo exhibitions at the Beijing Today Art Museum, Perrotin Gallery (New York, Paris, Hong Kong) and Galerie Urs Meile (Beijing). He has also participated in group exhibitions including Silent Long Holiday at the West Bund Museum (2020) and Human Forms in All Phenomena in Toyama, Japan (2016).His works were featured in the 2021 Beijing Poly Autumn Auction’s Contemporary Chinese Painting Evening Sale. In 2025, he held a solo exhibition Time to Say Goodbye at Capsule Shanghai. Spring in the Factory depicts the interaction between a factory director and female workers through a narrative scene, continuing his creative philosophy rooted in social observation.
