意大利艺术家 Simafra 生长于文艺复兴之都佛罗伦萨，在正式开启艺术生涯前，他曾深耕于当地著名的修复工作室，投身于教堂古典绘画的守护与重塑。这段历程赋予了他无可挑剔的极致技法，以及对材质近乎本能的掌控力，更培养了他对艺术的敬畏之心。转向成为专业艺术家后，Simafra 将这份“修复”的基因转译为作品中“重生”的底色，而并非纯粹的“原生”创作，他不执着于复刻古典技法，而是将宗教与神话中的象征性符号融入当代表达，以动物和自然作为最纯粹的代表，完成了一场从技艺修复到精神叙事的华丽转型，这种跨文化代际的挪用，在他看来，是赋予了它不得不重生的生命力。

The Italian artist Simafra was born, raised, and currently practices in Florence, a city defined by its Renaissance heritage. Before embarking on his journey as an independent artist, he held a prestigious position in a renowned local restoration studio, where he meticulously restored ecclesiastic paintings. This experience granted him not only a flawless technique but also an intuitive command over materials, while cultivating a profound reverence for the artistic tradition.

Transitioning into his own creative practice, Simafra’s oeuvre is defined by the essence of 'Rebirth' rather than mere 'Origin.' This reflects the metamorphosis of his professional path: rather than being confined by classical techniques, he distills symbolic animal motifs from religion and mythology, weaving them into a contemporary narrative that celebrates the revival and reconstruction of history.

此次展出的作品，乃是他在上海参与艺术家驻地项目的成果。这些新作在画面色调上也一改以往的幽暗与压抑，变得更为明亮与轻逸。这对他的艺术生涯而言，无疑也是一次“重生”。该展览是庆祝中意建交55周年官方项目的一部分。西玛弗拉（Simafra）受邀参加由世纪艺术博物馆主办、NoName Studio Shanghai与ArtPlus100国际事务总监卡洛·玛丽亚·罗西（Carlo Maria Rossi）联合策展的“ArtPlus100国际青年艺术家驻留计划”，在上海进行艺术创作。

This series of featured works are the latest results of Simafra's artist residency in Shanghai. This new series marks a significant shift, trading his signature dark and moody tones for a brighter, more fluid luminosity—a true 'rebirth' for his artistic career.

The exhibition also proudly serves as part of the official celebrations for the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations. Simafra was invited to create under the 'ArtPlus100 International Young Artist Residency Program,' a collaboration with the Century Art Museum, NoName Studio Shanghai, and ArtPlus100 International Affairs Director, Carlo Maria Rossi.
