About Artist
王大卫1984年出生于上海，其艺术实践探索日常与诗意转化的交汇点。他于2009年获上海师范大学学士学位，并于2015年在该校获得油画系硕士学位，现工作生活于美国。
自2011年在上海非青计划画廊举办首次个展以来，王大维持续活跃于当代艺术领域。王大卫的个展包括2011、2013、2014、2017年在非青计划画廊举办的个展、2021年在北京可以画廊举办的个展，以及2023年在纽约Shin画廊举办的《平凡的梦与诗意的现实》个展。重大艺术展会如2009年参展于上海当代艺术博物馆、在2020年、2023年参展于纽约Fou Gallery、Upstream Gallery以及华盛顿特区Touchstone Gallery、2015年上海廿一当代艺术博览会、2013年艺术登陆新加坡艺博会、2009年、2012年、2014年上海国际当代艺术博览会以及2013年洛杉矶艺术博览会。
Wang Dawei (b. 1984, Shanghai) is a Chinese painter whose practice explores the intersection of everyday banality and poetic transformation. He received his BA in Fine Arts from Shanghai Normal University in 2009 and completed his MFA in Painting at the same institution in 2015. Now he works and lives in USA.
Since his first solo exhibition at FQ Projects in Shanghai in 2011, Wang has maintained a consistent presence in the contemporary art landscape. His work has been featured in solo presentations at venues including FQ Projects (2011, 2013, 2014, 2017), Keyi Gallery in Beijing (2021), and most recently at Shin Gallery in New York with "Banal Dreams and Poetic Realities" (2023).
Wang's work has been included in group exhibitions at notable institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai (2009), and galleries in New York including Fou Gallery and Upstream Gallery (2020, 2023), as well as Touchstone Gallery in Washington DC (2020). His international profile has been further established through participation in major art fairs, including Art021 Shanghai (2015), Art Stage Singapore (2013), SH Contemporary International Art Fair (2009, 2012, 2014), and the Los Angeles Art Show (2011).
