BANK is delighted to present the works of Tim Crowley at the first edition of ENZO in Los Angeles.

Tim Crowley's practice often explores the mechanics of the art world through pseudo-posters that blend institutional critique with wry observation. His paintings dissect visual languages of promotion and display, turning exhibition advertisements into self-reflexive mediums. By reimagining posters for fictional or future exhibitions, Crowley constructs parallel narratives that hover between irony and homage, revealing the invisible labor and layered fictions underpinning contemporary art systems.

本次展出的作品之一，是一幅为2112年某展览构想的海报。画中，一只狗的目光将观者引向左上角硕大的“ART”字样，手写文字宣告：“艺术即我的一切”。这近乎虔敬的戏剧化陈述，却因荒诞的错位——目击者是一只狗，且时间设定在遥远未来，虔诚被过度放大——而消解于戏谑之中，成为对艺术被神话化之身份的微妙评论。

Among the featured works is an oil painting conceived as a poster for an exhibition set in the year 2112. A dog’s gaze directs viewers toward the bold, oversized letters “ART” in the upper-left corner, while handwritten text declares “Art is my everything.” This theatrical, almost devotional proclamation is undercut by a playful absurdity—the canine witness, the distant future setting, and the exaggerated piety together create a sly commentary on art’s mythologized role. 

而另一幅参展作品中，一只无毛猫的特写占据了画面，它身后盘发的女人面容难辨，背后的幽蓝似乎隐藏着某些秘密。这场2125年的展览名为“湿婆的自拍”，柯好理继续将严肃与荒诞并置。代表毁灭与创造的神明在画面外举起手机，严肃的神性似乎也化为作品中的像素。

作为全新亮相的精品型艺博会，ENZO将于2026年2月与 Frieze Los Angeles 和 Felix Art Fair 同期举办。ENZO选址于洛杉矶的回声公园，汇集了九家来自纽约唐人街和下东区的画廊，旨在于纽约充满活力的画廊场景与洛杉矶独特的文化版图之间产生对话。

In another featured work, a close-up of a hairless cat dominates the composition, behind which a woman with her hair tied up becomes faceless and indistinct, the deep blue backdrop seemingly concealing certain secrets. This 2125 exhibition is titled "Shiva's Selfie," where Tim Crowley continues his signature juxtaposition of seriousness and absurdity. The deity of destruction and creation raises a smartphone just beyond the frame, as if solemn divinity itself dissolves into pixels within the work.

ENZO is a new boutique art fair launching this February, coinciding with Frieze Los Angeles and Felix Art Fair. Taking place in Echo Park, ENZO presents nine galleries from New York’s Chinatown and Lower East Side, bringing this dynamic gallery scene into dialogue with Los Angeles’s distinct cultural landscape.

柯好理 (1972年, 出生于英国) 在中国北京、杭州生活和工作。柯好理的作品取材于他长期深入地参与全球当代艺术行业之中。在他最新的一系列画作中，他取材于自己丰富的经验，以及反讽性的敏感，为当代艺术展览的未来走向创作了一篇近乎玩笑的论文。作为一名艺术家，柯好理在他漫长的职业生涯中还扮演了许多其他角色，包括策展人、艺术空间总监、教育家、艺术杂志编辑和纪录片制作人。这些角色将他带到全世界各地，也见证了他与这个行业内最优秀的人的共事和合作。他曾在纽约的White Columns 画廊和米兰的 Tema Celeste 杂志工作；他于2016-2021年起担任北京金杜艺术中心艺术国际总监以及慕尼黑 Kino Der Kunst 亚洲部分的策展人，自2022年起担任杭州天目里美术馆国际顾问。

柯好理的作品曾在深圳OCAT双年展，巴西 Mercosul 双年展、米兰的 Perimeter Editions以及北京中央美术学院美术馆展出。柯好理的作品被南京德基美术馆、杭州天目里美术馆及其他收藏。

Tim Crowley (b.1972, England) lives and works in Beijing and Hangzhou, China. Crowley’s work is marked by his intensive and long involvement with all aspects of the global contemporary art industry. In his latest series of paintings, he draws from his vast experience, as well as his satirical sensibilities, to create a tongue-in-cheek dissertation on the possible future of contemporary art exhibitions. Practicing foremost as an artist, Crowley has also played many other roles throughout his long career, including curator, art space director, educator, art magazine editor, and documentary filmmaker. These roles have taken him to the far reaches of the earth and have seen him work with some of the best in the field. He has worked at White Columns gallery in New York and Tema Celeste magazine in Milan. He has been the International Director of KWM Artcenter in Beijing from 2016 to 2021, the curator of the Asia section of the Kino Der Kunst in Munich, and the International Consultant of BYARTMATTERS in Hangzhou since 2022.

Tim Crowley’s work has been showcased at the OCAT Shenzhen Biennial, Mercosul Biennale (Brazil), Perimeter Editions (Milan), and the Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing). Crowley’s work is in the collection of the De Ji Museum (Nanjing), BYARTMATTERS (Hangzhou), and other prestigious collections.
