The Intersolar Africa 2026 will be held from February 3rd to 4th, 2026 at the Sarit Expo Center. As one of the most influential professional photovoltaic and energy storage exhibitions in East Africa. This year's exhibition brought together photovoltaic module manufacturers, energy storage system integrators, power investment institutions, and industry experts from Africa and around the world to discuss new paths for Africa's energy transition. Kenya is accelerating the development of energy storage systems to support the integration of solar and wind power, with installed capacity expected to reach approximately 250MW by 2026. In 2025, KenGen deployed a 1.16MWh battery energy storage system for a data center in Nairobi, while multiple photovoltaic projects are also incorporating MW-level battery energy storage for peak-valley regulation and grid stability. Although the overall scale is still in its early stages, policy initiatives, corporate pilot projects, and large-scale project construction are jointly driving the rapid growth of the energy storage market.
