为什么可持续种植是酿造优质葡萄酒的重要因素?原因已众所周知,但也有一些让人意想不到的因素。

在当今的葡萄酒世界中,毫无疑问,可持续种植可以酿造出更具丰富香气和风味的葡萄酒。同时,可持续种植也更有利于环境保护。因为在葡萄园中不能使用合成杀虫剂和除草剂,土壤的 “健康 ”或 “生命”(有时称为 “腐殖质”)不会受到影响。

土壤越健康,微生物的数量就越多,葡萄园的生物多样性也就越丰富。丰富的微生物有助于植物生长保持适当的平衡,从而产出香气浓郁、风味丰富的果实。

还有很多人不知道,可持续种植也不允许使用杀真菌剂。不使用化学杀虫剂和除草剂对促进生物多样性(和更好的葡萄酒)很重要,而不使用杀真菌剂则有助于促进土壤中被称为 “菌丝”(源自希腊语 “mykēs”,意为真菌)的真菌网的存在。

Why is organic farming such an important element in the production of great wine? It’s because of all the reasons you already know. But it’s also because of something you may not expect. 

In today’s world of wine, there is no doubt that organic farming can make for wines with richer aromas and flavors. Organic farming practices are also better for the environment in general. Because you cannot use synthetic pesticides and herbicides in the vineyard, the “health” or “life” of the soil (sometimes called “humus”). 

The better the health of the soil, the greater the number of microorganisms and consequently also the biodiversity of the vineyards. The abundance of microorganisms helps the plants to have the right balance for producing fruit rich in aroma and flavor. 

But a lot of people don’t realize that fungicide is also not allowed in organic farming. And while the absence of chemical pesticides and herbicides is important in fostering biodiversity (and better wines), the absence of fungicides helps to foster the presence of the fungal network in the soil known as “mycelium” (from the Greek “mykēs” meaning fungus). 

The mycelium is a key element in the expression of terroir: The unique aromas and flavors that reflect the place where the wine is grown. E. Mirafiore has been organinc certified since 2018.
